Job Description:
Duties: Works closely with the portfolio management team and
plays a key role in ensuring that portfolios are positioned in accordance
with the Portfolio Managers’ investment strategies and views, and
that organizational and infrastructure capabilities are in place to
support the portfolio management process. Primary Responsibilities: • Monitors portfolio performance, positioning, risk metrics,
etc. to ensure alignment with PM investment thesis and process; and
recognizes, evaluates, and reconciles any results that are inconsistent with
manager or strategy objectives. • Works with PMs to develop trading/execution strategies to
implement PM views and investment strategies (e.g., fund transitions,
alignment of active positioning across funds, etc.). • Performs cash flow analysis; provides insight on liquidity constraints, manager timing preferences, and impact on
reallocation feasibility and scheduling. • Prepares, executes, and reconciles trading activities, in partnership with PMs. • Ensures that the trading platform, tools, and execution
algorithms are consistent with industry and Fidelity best practices. • Manages individual client portfolios consistent with
Strategic Advisers' investment philosophy and the unique portfolio
parameters and objectives of each client account. • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with
portfolio managers, traders, and key investment services personnel across
investment divisions as well as product management staff in the
distribution groups; helps to represent SAI interests in planning large trades or
transitions, implementation of fund changes, new fund launches, etc.; and
coordinates communications to PMs, research, investment services contacts
and back- office groups. • Works closely with the investment staff, investment
operations, and the technology group on infrastructure enhancements and other
projects to support the portfolio management process. • Works with PMs, quantitative analysts, and other investment
staff on investment analysis projects that support the development and
refinement of investment and/or trading strategies (e.g., ongoing asset
class-related research, back testing, and optimizations for new fund
concepts/fund repositioning, etc.). Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent)
in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Finance, or a closely related
field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years
of experience performing investment portfolio attribution and
construction analysis within the investment management industry; Or,
alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Finance,
Economics, Quantitative Finance, or a closely related field and five (5)
years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience
performing investment portfolio attribution and construction analysis
within the investment management industry. Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) writing SQL queries to extract data from
relational databases to support portfolio construction, analysis, and
attribution; DE performing investment analysis – use of risk analytic packages
in FactSet and Bloomberg to evaluate portfolio exposure, risk, and
performance across investments in equity and fixed income asset classes; DE
developing and presenting analytics to portfolio managers to support
trading/execution strategies (fund transitions and alignment of active
positioning), cash flow analysis (liquidity constraints, reallocation feasibility
and scheduling), and reconciliation of trading activities; DE
manipulating and interpreting large data sets to implement time sensitive
critical solutions designed to improve business workflow related to investment
