Job Description:
Description of Service Opportunity: The CPS SOARS! program is a
four week summer learning experience for current grade K-4 students
with demonstrated academic need. Each classroom will have one
teacher, one paraprofessional, and up to 15 students during
instructional time. Each classroom will have up to two
paraprofessionals during enrichment time. The CPS SOARS!
paraprofessional, under the direction of the CPS SOARS! Principal,
will be responsible for: -Collaborating with the classroom teacher
to provide a fun, safe, theme-based summer learning experience that
promotes high expectations for all students; -Supporting literacy
and math instruction with teacher guidance using district provided
curriculum (LitCamp) and intervention materials; -Supporting
classroom set-up, clean up, and maintaining the classroom
environment; -Supporting enrichment activities -Facilitating food
service delivery and pick up; -Monitoring and supporting students
during lunch, recess, and drop-off/pick-up; -Supporting students
during local field trips and special events; and Other duties as
assigned Program logistics Dates: May 1–June 30, 2026 13 hours of
orientation, program planning, and curriculum training Specific
dates communicated with job offer July 6–31, 2026 (CPS SOARS!
Program) Time: There will be two shifts available for
paraprofessionals to work during the 2025 summer program: 8:00
a.m.–3:00 p.m. 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Location(s): Morse Elementary
School Minimum Requirements: CPS SOARS! paraprofessionals must have
the ability to support students with a range of learning needs in
multi-age classrooms. Associates degree or higher and experience
working with children in urban environments strongly preferred.
Priority will be given to regularly appointed paraprofessionals
from Cambridge Public School District. Length of Contract: July 1,
2026 to July 31, 2026 Contract Amount Not exceed $5635.00 Please
note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective
bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a
non-exempt employee and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you
will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours
