SUMMARY:

This role will be responsible for implementing, coordinating and supporting associate relations and engagement initiatives to enhance the associate experience, while also creating a more inclusive and productive workforce to support our mission, vision and values. A key function of this position is to provide guidance in associate relations issues, leadership/staff development and performance management. This position will report to the VP of Human Resources and work in conjunction with Regional Directors of Operations as well as hotel leadership teams to promote a highly engaging and collaborative work environment for Colwen associates. This position will be based at our Medford, MA corporate office.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

--- Partnering with both senior business stakeholders and HR team to develop and implement associate relations best practices and programs

--- Handling associate complaints, managing the problem-resolution process and facilitating coaching and counseling when needed

--- Investigating and resolving complex or critical associate relations issues in a timely and effective manner

--- Support centralized associate engagement activities and initiatives that span across multiple locations

--- Internal change leader dedicated to creating new, innovative, dynamic associate experiences and engagement initiatives

--- Collaborate with property general managers to ensure smooth execution of initiatives

--- Designs, implements, and monitors the progress of initiatives to ensure timeliness and deliverables are met

--- Research and analyze best practices across all Colwen properties to ensure initiatives are competitive and utilize best practices

--- Work closely with all Colwen properties to highlight and share associate engagement stories both internally and externally

--- Work collaboratively with Colwen property General Managers and Human Resources Managers to design, deploy, and evaluate effective engagement programs to include action plans

--- Participate as a member of Colwen hotels property pre-opening teams

--- Collaborate with Human Resources Managers to support Colwen property General Managers to develop strategies to link between pro-associate relations and the Colwen's strategic goals

--- Support Colwen's Learning Management System

--- Coordinate associate events including monthly activities, associate recognition, anniversary/birthday celebrations, holiday parties, and community outreach

--- Facilitate and deliver trainings as needed

--- Perform other job duties as required

REQUIRED SKILLS:

--- A high degree of creativity and out-of-the-box thinking

--- Well-organized and able to implement

--- Strong writing skills

--- Strong communication and presentation skills

--- Proficient in Microsoft Office products

--- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities

--- Bi-lingual communication in both English and Spanish highly preferred

--- Understanding of how to interact with and energize a broad range of multi-generational diverse associate groups

--- Ability to engage and motivate associates at all levels to participate in engagement initiatives

--- Travel may be required up to 50% of the time primarily in and around the Greater Boston Region

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

--- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Experience with a focus in the hospitality and/or a service industry highly preferred

--- 5+ years of experience within human resources and associate relations
