CST is seeking to hire a Manager of Procurement who will serve as the primary interface between CST and our suppliers, drive strategic cost savings, supply continuity, risk mitigation, and support the development of business unit innovation and growth opportunities. The position reports to SVP, Global Operations, and serves as the procurement leader, decision-maker, and influencer to our suppliers. We are seeking a proactive, hands-on manager who's continually encouraging and motivating their team members to promote efficient and trouble-free operations. Activities include sourcing, evaluating, and approving suppliers and vendors, negotiating supply contracts, maintaining supplier relationships, and monitoring the quality and timeliness of materials and services provided.

You'll have the opportunity to....

  • Develop and implement comprehensive, flexible, cost-effective purchasing strategies, policies and processes that promote the procurement of all goods and services at the lowest total cost without sacrificing quality
  • Develop and implement contract management strategies, policies and processes that promote consistent procedures, standardized agreements, and uniform practices throughout the company
  • Develop supplier management programs and implements measurement tools and tracking to assess supplier performance and ensure contract compliance while maintaining overall quality and customer service
  • Ensure the development and implementation of supply chain management systems and the use of technology to improve effectiveness
  • Develop and direct the implementation of initiatives related to quality improvement, value improvement, purchasing system enhancements, and benchmarking
  • Effectively communicate procurement strategy, processes, and results to stakeholders and leadership
  • Establish strong business relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve supplier quality and/or services issues as appropriate
  • Partner with business functions to generate a constant flow of cost savings ideas
  • Manage day-to-day activities and performance of the Procurement team by developing and complying with departmental SOPs and KPIs
  • Champion a continuous improvement mindset within the team by encouraging and supporting process improvement initiatives
    What you bring to the team....

    • Bachelor of Science degree with 10+ years experience in Procurement
    • 3+ years experience managing a team
    • Knowledge of and experience in purchasing, inventory management, and accounts payable practices including ERP systems
    • Advanced negotiation, dispute resolution, and influencing skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills to establish strong relationships both internally and externally
    • Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS)
    • Experience using inventory and workflow management systems
    • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and other process improvement tools
    • Proven ability to know when to seek additional guidance as necessary
    • Proven success in being highly accountable and meeting deadlines
    • Preferred, but not required:
      • MBA degree
      • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification and courses in contract negotiation and management
      • Experience in a life sciences company
      • Experience in a manufacturing supply chain role
