you'll bring to the teamAs the Head of Measurements, you must have
a strong background in wind measurements, power curve tests, and
familiarity with solar measurements. You will be adaptable,
creative, and have high throughput. You will be a dynamic leader
with strong communication skills and an ability to optimize
business performance. You will have a strong understanding of the
renewables industry and will anticipate where the market is
trending. You will be able to develop and implement strategic
initiatives to further bolster DNV's position as a market leader
and trusted voice in renewables measurements.This position will
preferably be based out of our Seattle office. We will consider
other DNV renewables offices such as Medford, Oakland or
Austin.What you'll do
- Build, implement, and maintain the Measurements business
plan.
- Empower employees, foster professional growth and progression,
and encourage employee retention through personnel evaluation,
coaching, mentoring, and training
- Optimize business performance through delivery management,
cost-efficient business operations, improvement of the utilization
rate, use of subcontractors, and an aligned workforce plan
- Support the Head of Department in strategy and
decision-making
- Stimulate a high-performing culture, set direction, and act as
a role model for an inspiring employee experience
- Ensure customer satisfaction for all Measurements projects
- Promote team capabilities internally and externally
- Drive innovation in Measurements by proposing new improvements,
tools, and business practices to further our leadership position in
the industry
- Actively collaborate with Service Area Leaders and
corresponding roles in other business lines to evolve the service
portfolio and capture customer opportunities
- Ensure team members have the resources and technical support
they need to deliver their work
- Ensure that employees have the required technical competencies;
you'll drive recruiting efforts within the section
- Foster an inclusive culture where employees can grow, feel
valued, and have a sense of belongingPosition QualificationsWhat is
required
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or
physical science
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience, including:
- 3+ years of professional experience in power curve tests, met
mast deployment, remote sensing, and solar monitoring stations
- 3+ years of professional experience as a project manager on
complex, multi-year projects
- 3+ years of experience managing field crews
- Experience managing a team with the proven ability to develop a
high-performance culture in a fast-paced, changing, and complex
environment
- Proven skills to engage, develop, care for, and motivate
employees
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- We conduct pre-employment drug and background screeningWhat is
preferred
- A Master's Degree is preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- 5+ years of leadership experience with the ability to
strategize, inspire and achieve goals
- 2+ years of direct experience in solar
- 2+ years in an innovation role
- Member of any related IEC committeePersonal Qualities
- Communicate effectively, is pragmatic, builds strong
relationships, and can influence
- Hold strong leadership skills and the ability to engage,
develop and motivate own employees
- Ability to create trust through robust delivery and strong
relationship building
- Have the ability to respect and understand cultural diversity
and communicate and relate to several personnel at different
