Job Description:

Mid-sized but growing food manufacturer in Medford, MA area is seeking a dynamic Production Manager with significant food production and leadership experience to help with growth.Job Summary:The role involves managing and directing the entirety of manufacturing activities with an emphasis on safety and efficiency. The Production Manager will be in charge of product manufacturing according to the company's quality standards, within the budget, and as per the production schedule.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and manage all production activities.Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to handle a diverse workforce.Oversee the quality, food safety, and production of the products and manage the analysis and reporting of key metrics.Supervise, train, and assess production personnel.Maintain a productive and team-oriented environment within the facility.Oversee employee productivity and focus on retention.Participate in management meetings and quality inspections.Address any deficiencies related to production.Oversee new product development.Possess a comprehensive understanding of equipment setup, sanitation, breakdown, and adjustment.Ensure compliance with the Food Safety and Quality Management System.Assist management in other related duties as needed.Required Experience/Education:Minimum of five years of managerial experience in bakery manufacturing. A related Bachelor's Degree is a plus.Proficiency in HACCP and SQF principles.Strong command over Microsoft Office programs and custom software.Physical Demands:This job requires regular verbal communication, frequent standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting/moving up to 50 pounds. The role may require handling, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.Work Environment:Employees occasionally deal with wet/humid conditions, moving parts, high places, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, weather conditions, and extreme cold. Noise level is usually moderate. The role requires the ability to work with a variety of food ingredients.
