Overview:A Licensed Practical Nurse is a professional member of the healthcare team who provides skilled nursing care to patients in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of clinical practice. A Licensed Practical Nurse works under the direction of a supervising Registered Nurse and/or Physician.Job Duties:Adheres to the policies and procedures of the company. Possesses the knowledge and skill necessary to provide appropriate care for patients assigned.Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, and co-workersConducts ongoing assessments as determined by patient's condition and/or the client's policies, procedures or protocols and reprioritizes care accordingly.Performs appropriate treatments as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner.Documents patient assessment findings, physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution.Maintains confidentiality in matters related to patient, family and staff.Reports patient condition to appropriate personnel.Qualifications:Graduate of accredited LPN ProgramCurrent active license to practice as an LPN in the state of placementPrevious IV and Phlebotomy ExperienceAt least one (1) year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the United States (preferred)Current CPR certification.Evidence of BLS and all additional required credentials specific to nurse specialty.Provide care using infection control measures that protect the patient according to OSHA standards.Physical Requirements:Must be able to speak, write, read and understand EnglishMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsProlonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twistingMust be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistanceEnvironment:Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditionsPossible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseasesOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
