Albany Medical Center, a leading healthcare system that integrates a top-tier hospital with a cutting-edge medical college, is currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in ambulatory care for our Neurosurgery department. This position requires a compassionate and dedicated individual who is adept at managing both planned and unforeseen medical situations with skill and empathy. As part of our neurosurgical team, you will work closely with neurosurgeons and other medical professionals to deliver high-quality, specialized care to patients undergoing treatment for a wide range of neurological disorders. Coordinate outpatient nursing operations in the neurosurgery department. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the neurosurgical team. Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments. Teach patients and their families about pre and post-surgery care. Ensure the continuity of care through accurate and timely documentation in the patient's medical record. Participate in the development of new health protocols and lead quality improvement initiatives within the department. Strong clinical skills with a focus on surgical nursing and neurology. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in emergency situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and medical staff. Proficient in using medical software for charting and documentation. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. BLS/ACLS certification. CNRN (Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse) preferred but not required.
