Job Description:

Encompass Health is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team of healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional care and rehabilitation services to patients across 42 states. In this dynamic role, you will support physical therapists in implementing treatment plans that help improve patients' mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities in a facility-based or home-based setting. Our integrated healthcare services model offers a unique opportunity to work across diverse healthcare environments, ensuring holistic patient wellness and recovery. Assist physical therapists in the assessment and evaluation of patient needs and therapy progress. Implement selected components of care and therapeutic interventions as directed by the supervising physical therapist. Document patient responses and progress, updating the physical therapist regularly. Educate patients and families about health maintenance and programs that promote physical wellness. Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and treatment areas according to safety standards. Participate in team meetings and collaborate with healthcare team members to enhance patient treatment and recovery. Proficiency in implementing physical therapy modalities and exercises as part of patient care plans. Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Adaptability to work effectively in various healthcare settings.
