In this role, you will assist the pharmacists in dispensing medications, processing prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service - all while bridging language barriers for our Spanish-speaking patients. Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Active Connecticut Pharmacy Technician LicenseHigh school diploma or GED equivalent required Experience and Training: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferredPrior pharmacy technician experience preferred; community health or retail pharmacy experience a plusActive Pharmacy Technician Certification preferredStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care Standard Job Duties: Communicate with patients in both English and Spanish to explain medication instructions, answer questions, and ensure understandingLearn and adhere to 340B dispensing requirements, including the billing of prescription, selection and ordering of inventory and auditing proceduresCorrectly read and interpret prescription ordersAccurately bill and fill prescriptions accurately using pharmacy softwareUtilize point-of-sale software to service customersAnswer phone calls and questions, knowing when to escalate calls to PharmacistsOrder, receive and stock incoming ordersCommunicate effectively and appropriately with patients, coworkers, health care providers and othersAbility to work independently, under the supervision of a PharmacistAssist in training other staff members COVID-19 considerations: Employees of First Choice Health Centers must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
