Permanent Physician Assistant - Surgery - Orthopedic

Position Type: Permanent

Shift: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (hours may vary)

Position Details:

Patient Population: Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic Patients

Setting: Clinical and Surgical Settings

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments
• Develop and implement treatment plans under physician supervision
• Order, review, and interpret diagnostic and imaging studies
• Assist orthopedic surgeons during surgical procedures
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient management and follow-up care
• Educate patients and families regarding orthopedic conditions and treatment plans
• Perform orthopedic-related procedures including joint injections and other office-based procedures
• Participate in rotational call coverage
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation teams, and ancillary departments

Required Procedures:

• Joint Injections
• Other Orthopedic Office-Based Procedures

EMR System: Cerner

Support Staff:

• Orthopedic Surgeons
• Nursing Staff
• Rehabilitation Teams
• Ancillary Departments

On-Call/Weekends: Rotational call schedule 1:4 (varies)

Submission Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery Required
• Current Vermont PA-C License (or willingness to obtain) Required
• Most Recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days) Required
• CPR Certification Required
