Local Unit & Position Description

DNV- Energy Systems is looking for a Business Development Manager to advise our customers on maximizing the benefits of Smart Cable Guard, a core element of the DNV vision to improve reliability for large energy users, large-scale renewable energy and power grids. Would you like to be a leader in increasing resiliency, reducing costs of power supply and protecting the safety of power systems in the Americas via a unique platform of sensors, machine learning and remote real-time monitoring? As part of DNV's Smart Grid strategy, our patented Smart Cable Guard solution delivers unique insights into the condition of power feeder cables. Distribution cables are essential to the powering of all homes, buildings and plants, yet neglected in the rollout of Smart Grids. You are the go-to person when it comes to online condition management of medium voltage cables. You make an impact!

This position may be located in any of our North American offices, including but not limited to those in CA, CT, IL, NJ, NY, NV, MA, ME, MI, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA and WI, with flexible work arrangement (home/office).

What You'll Do

  • Achieving new sales and upsells for Smart Cable Guard in the Americas.
  • Positioning and increasing the visibility of Smart Cable Guard in the Americas.
  • Applying foresight and innovation to guide how services evolve based on the changing needs of the market.
  • Fostering a relevant external and internal network, including extending our senior relationships.
  • Identifying and nurturing customer relationships, discovering needs, quantifying how DNV can add value.
  • Cooperating and working closely with the Americas teams in DNV Energy and Digital Solutions.
  • Cooperating and working closely with the account and opportunity team during the sales phase and subsequent implementation.
  • Building the annual business development and sales plan for the Americas
  • Managing and reporting on the Americas sales funnel.
    What Is Required

    Position Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in science, technology, engineering or math
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a successful quota-carrying salesperson is an absolute requirement
    • In lieu of meeting educational requirement, minimum of 5 years of experience in sales/business development related to power delivery
    • Existing senior management-level network within large power users, particularly refineries and petrochemicals, and/or electric utilities within the US
    • Clear and structured communication, able to listen empathetically and respond persuasively in senior management settings
    • Exceptional commercial awareness, result orientation, and proven business development ability
    • Customer-centric and able to challenge customer needs
    • Curious, well-organized, and engaged
