Local Unit & Position DescriptionAre you excited about the

to join a team who is involved in more than 80% of the active US
projects? - -DNV's Renewables Certification (RC) is seeking an
engineer with a background in subsea cables (electrical or
mechanical), to join our RC team in Boston. - RC has the global
responsibility for Type Certification (TC), Component Certification
(CC) and Project Certification (PC) within DNV Energy Systems.
-Currently, DNV RC consists of more than 200 experts with locations
in Boston, Busan, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Dresden, London, Shanghai,
Beijing, and Taipei. DNV is a market leader in Renewables
Certification, and we work with the leading OEM's in the TC wind
market and are involved in more than 80% of PC for offshore wind
parks in the world. -In the US, the Code of Federal Regulations, 30
CFR 585, require that the design, fabrication, transportation, and
installation of the entire offshore wind facility is certified by a
BOEM approved Certified Verification Agent (CVA). - DNV's position
as a PC market leader led to DNV being the first CVA to
successfully deliver a Certified Facility Design Report (FDR) and
Fabrication and Installation Report (FIR) for the Cape Wind
project, as well as the first successful Federal project to reach
commercial operations, CVOW Pilot. - Today, DNV is the approved CVA
for more than 80% of the active projects in the US.Offshore wind in
the US will continue to grow with nearly a dozen more lease areas
being auctioned off 2022 by BOEM. - To meet this demand, RC is
expanding its team in the US and therefore seeks highly skilled and
motivated persons to represent RC services in the rapidly growing
CVA offshore wind market. -Overall responsibility of the position
is to perform technical review work of the of the subsea power
cables (and their interfaces to the wind turbine generators,
offshore substation, and onshore termination) in collaboration with
RC colleagues across our global organization. - Technical review of
subsea power cables considers the electrical, mechanical and
interface designs, including manufacturing, transportation, and
installation (with focus on CBRA, burial assessment studies, cable
route design and secondary structures). Successful candidates may
also perform onsite witnessing of fabrication, transportation, and
installation work and/or serve as asset package or project managers
for US offshore wind projects. -The position is located in our
Medford (Boston) office.What You'll do -
- Delivering technical review in one or more of the CVA work
tasks related to the certification of subsea power cables
- Project/Package Manager for (one or more) US CVA projects
- Coordination of work tasks and deliveries from other DNV units
in US and abroad
- Prepare CVA nomination package including coordinating responses
to BOEM with RC Europe on behalf of customers
- Participation in standards development, joint-industry-projects
(JIPs) and conferences
- Follow-up with onsite witness of fabrication and transport &
installation activities in the US
- Opportunities to work on offshore projects globallyPosition
QualificationsWhat is Required -
- Bachelor's or master's degree in relevant engineering
background.
- At least 4 years of engineering experience with preference
towards subsea power cables, umbilicals, or similar.
- Knowledge of applicable standards and recommendations, e.g.,
IEC, IEEE, CIGRE, DNV, NFPA, NEMA, UL, etc., is required.
- Highly professional and credible presence during interaction
with customers and within DNV across all management levels
- Excellent networking skills. Ability to build and maintain
relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Strong commercial attitude and strategic mind-set. Highly
self-motivated and result oriented
- Well organized & proactive, able to successfully work in a fast
paced and competitive environment with diverse people - clients and
co-workers
- Willingness and ability to travel
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- We conduct pre-employment background and drug screeningsWhat is
Preferred -
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license -is preferred (any state
is allowed, but it must be in active standing).
- Experience in managing projects or small teams is
preferred.
- Understanding of Certification and CVA services and processes
