Responsibilities include managing and mentoring docketing staff, collaborating with attorneys and section management to establish best practices, and addressing performance issues. The role involves staying current with rule changes, providing technical training, and maintaining deadlines for patents, trademarks, and copyrights. The manager handles incoming mail, manages third-party docketing providers, and works with the IP Records Manager to improve client portfolio transfers. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or at least 10 years of docketing experience, including five years in management and prior law firm experience. They must maintain confidentiality, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, patent-specific software, and docketing databases is required. The position demands multitasking, leadership, and the ability to foster a collaborative environment among attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
