Local Unit & Position DescriptionDo you want to be part of an

team?DNV is growing our Strategy Team within the Energy Systems
group and is looking to add a Senior Consultant to support grid
modernization and decarbonization efforts. This role will support
and lead business development and project management efforts on
strategic issues in the energy transition, including grid
modernization, decarbonization, non-wires alternatives,
non-pipeline alternatives, distributed energy resources, electric
vehicles, and evolving utility economics and energy market
dynamics.The position may be based out of any of DNV's continental
U.S. offices. A remote location will be considered for the right
candidate.What you'll do
- Support project-based teams in delivering strategic research
studies and analyses by serving as the project manager or project
sponsor and/or providing support as a subject matter expert. This
can include client interaction, the development of proposals or
work plans, the leadership of project teams or tasks, the
preparation of deliverables, and the presentation of results
- Work closely with DNV's Director of Strategy to develop,
refine, and fulfill the team's objective of providing consulting
services that enable clients to meet their decarbonization and grid
modernization goals. Identify areas of growth in this space and
develop service offerings
- Provide insights and lead and/or support research and analysis
on strategic energy transition projects, including road mapping,
potential resource analyses, distribution system planning, adoption
forecasting, resiliency studies, and local system impact
analyses
- Interpret customers' problems to be solved and convert them
into value-added opportunities
- Create resources and tools for grid modernization and gas
decarbonization strategies
- Collaborate with DNV staff on other teams in North America and
globally (Digitalization & Analytics, Design & Evaluation,
Engineering & Technology, Power System Advisory, Storage and Grid
Edge, and Renewables Advisory) to identify opportunities for
collaboration and innovation and develop creative approaches to
customer problems
- Operate with a teamwork mentality that leads to building and
maintaining interpersonal relationships, providing guidance to
researchers and consultants, and collaborating with other project
managers and team members to share knowledge and best
practices
- Ensure all work products are high quality, effective, and
timely; effectively utilize analysts and consultants at DNV to
ensure high standards of accuracy
- Act as a public spokesperson for DNV, representing the
organization at conferences and other public speaking
venuesPosition QualificationsWhat is Required
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or emphasis in a
relevant discipline preferred
- Minimum eight years of work experience in data analysis,
engineering, or market research and five years of work experience
in the energy industry are required
- Experience in a consulting environment and with business
development (proposal development and/or proactive business
development) is required
- Demonstrated curiosity and desire to continue learning and
evolving with the market. An understanding of trends in
decarbonization and grid modernization developments, policies, and
markets
- Willingness to undertake new and exciting activities and think
creatively to find a solution to a problem. An interest in using
data and research to tell a story
- Motivation for sourcing and/or successfully steering efforts to
obtain new business
- Accustomed to multitasking and working under tight deadlines in
a dynamic environment
- Ability to effectively lead, motivate and coach people in
varying disciplines to achieve improved overall performance
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills;
demonstrated ability to write for different audiences, including
proposal development
- Comfortable communicating with team members with different
cultural backgrounds and experience
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and have a
positive, team-oriented attitude and professional demeanor
- Proven ability to manage tasks to quality, budget, and deadline
targets

New York City, California, and Washington, DNV provides a
reasonable compensation range for roles that may be hired in those
locations. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of
factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of
experience, and specific office location. For the state of
Colorado, New York City, NY, California, and Washington only, the
range of starting pay for this role is $125,000.00-
