Buildings & General Services (BGS) at the State of Vermont has an
exciting opportunity to join the team as a Master Electrician
within the Operations & Management Division.
This position will be responsible for electrical maintenance,
testing of fire alarms, and maintaining power equipment as part of
team that performs these duties at state facilities within the
Northwest district. Travel between these facilities may be required
and will utilize a state owned and or a privately owned
vehicle.
This is a full-time position, and the hours are Monday through
Friday, 6am to 2:30pm. The position requires a valid driver's
license and successful completion of a background check.
The starting hourly rate for this position is $26.57 to $32.84 and
may be negotiable based on experience.

Environmental Factors
Duties are performed at state buildings including correctional
facilities and psychiatric care facilities. Contact with inmates
and patients may be anticipated. Incumbents may encounter
harassment or hostile behavior and must be able to respond in a
calm and professional manner. Must be able to climb ladders, lift
weights up to 75 pounds, and work in cramped, wet, or poorly
ventilated areas. Electrical repairs may entail exposure to live
electrical parts, for which protective clothing must be worn. This
position may require emergency response to calls outside of regular
work hours. Some potential for physical injury may be present.
Position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess a current valid State of Vermont Master Electrician
License.
