Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC), a member of the University of Vermont Health Network, seeks a dedicated Medical Lab Scientist to join its Laboratory Services team. The role of the Medical Lab Scientist is pivotal in supporting our diagnostic services through detailed clinical laboratory testing. Responsibilities include the analysis of chemical, biological, microbiological, and hematological samples, maintaining laboratory instruments, and ensuring results contribute effectively to patient diagnosis and management. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment equipped with advanced medical technologies. Perform complex tests on patient samples using modern laboratory equipment. Analyze and interpret data to provide reliable results for medical evaluation. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss test results and diagnoses. Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations concerning laboratory practices. Participate in continuous quality improvement measures to enhance lab services. Proficiency in laboratory analytical techniques Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Medical Insurance Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent
